On May 4, 2021, Moultrie’s parents filed a lawsuit against the NWSL, citing a violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act. The league had kept her from signing a professional deal due to its age-limit policy.
Thanks to the temporary restraining order against the age rule, she became the third-round draft pick of the Thorns. Later, the club signed her on a three-year contract on June 30, 2021.
